In the summer of 2015 I was commissioned, along with two other photographers (Andrew Miller & Emanuel Love), to document Chicago's Park District cultural centers, known locally as Fieldhouses. If you grew up in the city, these spaces were an integral part of your upbringing. From organized sports to day-camp, neighborhood parks were your backyard. Humble, utilitarian, functional yet beautiful, this project reminded me how important these parks were for me while growing up. This curated collection is a representative of the central/west-side portion of of the city.
